The history of the Church in the last century shows us several figures who combine a profound contemplative practice with active involvement in the service of the vulnerable.

These talks will look at the example and teaching of some of these people, including Dorothy Day and Madeleine Delbrel, asking the question of how our own practice affects our daily choices and our approach to a chaotic world.

This retreat is both for the beginning and ongoing meditators. There will be four periods of meditation a day to accommodate your level of practice. Mornings will be in silence through breakfast and lunch, with the afternoon opening to times of rest and solitude and a convivial dinner where you can get to know your neighbour.
