Contemplating nature opens us up to wonder and silent wisdom, where every living being teaches us something. At the same time, acknowledging the state of our world is an essential step toward lucidity and responsibility.

How can we heal our damaged relationships with the Earth, with our own inner life, and with other living beings? How can we move from desolation to reconciliation? Beyond concepts, the concrete experience of contemplative presence in nature opens unexpected paths of healing, grounding, and transformation.

This retreat invites participants to walk this path of reconciliation in the inspiring setting of Bonnevaux, through meditation and contemplation, as well as embodied, creative, and spiritual practices rooted in sacred texts, the encyclical Laudato Si’, and The Work That Reconnects—a methodology of personal and collective transformation in service of the Earth and all living beings.

During this three-day retreat, we invite you to experience reconciliation through simple gestures of reconnection with the Earth and the living world, in the heart of Bonnevaux’s generous natural surroundings. Times of input, group sharing, and creative workshops will accompany this journey.

Programme Highlights

In harmony with the rhythm of Bonnevaux’s meditations and celebrations:

Talks about ecospirituality

This is a French-language retreat open to English speakers (simultaneous translation of the thematic inputs will be provided; workshops and sharing sessions will take place in parallel within a small English-speaking group).

This event takes place at Bonnevaux and offers an opportunity to discover the rich cultural and historical French and European heritage of the 12th-century Abbaye de Bonnevaux, as well as to explore the varied and natural beauty of the land which we cultivate as a model of ecological responsibility.

  • Testimonials
I have been a Catholic since I was young. I have visited many spiritual places, but I have never experienced a week like the one I was fortunate enough to experience this week—with such a strong connection between our relationship with nature and our grounding in meditation through everything that was offered. The workshops were very concrete and practical every day, helping us to truly become aware of everything around us.
