Welcome the new year (of the spiritual cycle) which begins with this Advent retreat at Bonnevaux. Jesus was born ‘in the fullness of time’. Seen with the eye of faith, his birth is an embodied intersection of time and eternity. We live, therefore, in a new kind of time: ‘tempiternity’ where time limits us rather than reveals and prepares us for fullness. Through the talks, the embodied practices and times for discussion, the periods of meditation together will help to explain why this is a ‘saving time’. As usual the retreat is suitable for newcomers to meditation as well as experienced meditators.
The retreat integrates into a peaceful daily rhythm the essential elements: morning, midday and evening meditation within a simple form of the Liturgy of the Hours, guided lectio divina (sacred reading), contemplative Eucharist, talks by Laurence Freeman, yoga led by Giovanni Felicioni, time for solitude in a beautiful natural setting, building spiritual friendship and opportunity for personal guidance.
The retreat begins with evening prayer and meditation at 18:00, followed by dinner on the 29th Nov (please check-in at the Abbaye between 14:00 – 17:30 on the 29th Nov). The retreat ends on Sunday 05 Dec at 14:00 and includes lunch. This retreat is in English and on-the-ground (not online) at l’Abbaye de Bonnevaux, France.

Membership is non-binding. It simply means that you are invited to attend the annual general meeting if you wish and that you may receive information about our events during the year.
The Abbey of Bonnevaux is the spiritual home of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM) which includes a Conference and Retreat Centre dedicated to peace. The on-the-ground activities of the Abbey are organized under the responsibility of l’Association Abbaye de Bonnevaux – Centre pour le Paix (ABP).
