"Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you."
(1 Peter 5:7)

We live in an era where the culture of competition has overshadowed the culture of care. This retreat will be an opportunity for us to reflect on and deepen our self-care so that we can better care for others. What is care, why do we care and for what purpose?

Care is a way of being. A way of being-in-the-world that forms the relationships established with all things. Caring is part of the natural dynamics of life. Experiencing being cared for by God through the love of Christ broadens our awareness of love and care. Meditation is a way for us to align our minds and hearts with this flow of love so that care becomes our way of being.

This retreat experience is an opportunity to deepen your sense of life as a spiritual  journey. It will combine a variety of practices –  meditation, contact with nature, prayer, body work, solitude, talks and exchange with young adults (18-45) from all over the world.

Immersion in nature

Immersion in nature on a retreat is one of the most enriching aspects for those seeking rest, introspection and spiritual renewal. Connecting with the natural environment offers physical, mental and spiritual benefits, creating a favourable setting for silence, prayer and self-knowledge.

Some of the benefits:

Living in the atmosphere of a Benedictine monastery

Living in the atmosphere of a Benedictine monastery and experiencing community life is an invitation to interiority, fruitful silence, and the harmony between prayer and work, following the tradition of Ora et Labora. The monastic routine, structured around the Liturgy of the Hours, fraternal service, and simplicity, creates an environment conducive to spiritual growth, fostering inner discipline, attentive listening to God, and detachment from the excesses of the external world. Through communal living, one learns the importance of humility, obedience, and love for others, transforming each daily act into an opportunity for spiritual growth and deeper communion with the divine

This event takes place at Bonnevaux and offers an opportunity to discover the rich cultural and historical French and European heritage of the 12th-century Abbaye de Bonnevaux, as well as to explore the varied and natural beauty of the land which we cultivate as a model of ecological responsibility.

This retreat is both for the beginning and ongoing meditators. There will be four periods of meditation a day to accommodate your level of practice. Mornings will be in silence through breakfast and lunch, with the afternoon opening to times of rest and solitude and a convivial dinner where you can get to know your neighbour.

  • Testimonials
"Meditation helps me to let go of myself. For a moment And after meditation, I often experience clarity on what is bugging me. Sometimes during the meditation, I experience some kind of peace, which is very relieving. And more important, because I am meditating in a community.

By sharing the silence together, I experience some kind of intimate connection without actively having to verbalise that I'm not feeling well. And often that is just what I need."
Bram, Meditator, Holland
Young Adults Retreat 2024
"This retreat helped me working more on acquiring the habit of meditation because before I used to meditate, but not as much as with we did during the retreat. I discovered also another way of praying, praying with the heart as it is explained in the community, so it is not about thinking in God is about being with God and I love to discover this way of praying thanks to the community. So the retreat first of all brings me peace...peace because to meditate everyday helps you to feel more connected with yourself and with the world and to accept your reality and to be thankful for what you receive every day."
