We meet meditator Silvia from Italy who has taken part to the Watercolour and Contemplation Workshop held in Bonnevaux this August.
Tell us a little bit about you, where you come from, what brought you to the world of meditation?
My name is Silvia and I live in Bergamo, in the north of Italy. My interest in the world of meditation was triggered by an ever growing desire for silence. Initially I heard about meditation from books I read and then by taking part to various conferences. It is after attending a conference that I landed on the WCCM website. I started listening to John Main, then downloaded the app and finally asked to be part of one of the online meditation groups. And so my journey began!
How do you feel about the experience of meditation? How important is it in your life?
I find it hard to miss my daily meditations and online groups. They are a very important part of my life.
How long have you stayed at Bonnevaux? What have you enjoyed the most about being there?
I spent a week in Bonnevaux in August 2019. I took part in the Nordic Watercolours and Meditation Retreat. It was a week full of colours, meditation and nature. I built a strong bond with the other participants, which I still treasure now. I’m very grateful to Tilde and Frédérique, they introduced us to the world of watercolors and yoga with passion and great professionalism.
How do you see the importance of being in a community?
Being part of a community is extremely important to me. I find sharing a very enriching experience. That very community is a silent presence that holds me by the hand in difficult moments.
“I find sharing something a very enriching experience. That community is a silent presence that holds me by the hand in difficult moments. “
What would you say to others who are thinking to come and visit?
I would recommend it to anyone. I’d also tell them to treasure and feel that sense of peace and fullness that comes from meditation on their way back from Bonnevaux.
